Portfolio Expansion: First Battery Storage Project in Görlsdorf
Conecon is expanding its service portfolio to include the construction of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). At the solar park in Görlsdorf, foundation works for the first project of this kind have recently started.
By entering the field of energy storage solutions, Conecon is taking an important step towards a more integrated energy infrastructure. In addition to generating renewable energy, the focus is increasingly shifting towards efficient storage and flexible use.
Battery storage systems make it possible to store surplus solar energy and feed it into the grid as needed. This helps reduce peak loads and improves grid stability – a key factor for the successful integration of renewable energy.
Conecon builds on its extensive experience in photovoltaic plant construction and is now expanding its capabilities in Balance of Plant (BoP), including electrical installations and civil works.
For 2026, initial battery storage projects are already in the pipeline, including:
a standalone BESS project with a capacity of up to 100 MW / 200 MWh in Germany
as well as a co-location project combined with a PV plant with approximately 10 MW / 20 MWh
The start of construction in Görlsdorf marks the first milestone in this new business area. Further project steps will follow throughout the construction phase.
